John Thomas Levee (b. 1998, Jacksonville, FL) is a composer, artist, and educator working at the intersection of a variety of mediums. His work often examines notions of human interaction with the environment and with technology. Obsolete and often landfill-bound technology, field recordings, and found objects are all integral to Levee’s work. For him, all of these components are evocative of specific places and times, and function as transportive tools. He currently teaches at Champlain College, where he is the Program Director for the Sonic Arts program, as well as the Program Director for the Game Sound Design program. He also manages their recording studio facilities.

He received his Master of Fine Art in Sound Art from Columbia University in the City of New York, where he studied with Seth Cluett, Georg F. Haas, Zosha DiCastri, Brad Garton, Miya Masaoka, Jace Clayton, David Adamcyk, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Jon Kessler, Tamar Ettun, and others. He received his Bachelor of Science in Audio Technology & Industry and his Bachelor of Arts in Digital Arts at Stetson University, where he studied with Chaz Underriner, Nathan Wolek, Manual DeMurga, Lonnie Hevia, and others. He resides in Ryegate Corner, where he serves as First Constable.
